Busy Paws, Happy Cats, and Blooming Gardens: Our Summer So Far in Warrington!

Summer in Warrington is always a special season for us at Home Minders, but this year has been particularly vibrant! Between the warm sunshine, local families heading off on well-deserved holidays, and pets needing extra TLC, our team has been happily crisscrossing the town to keep homes safe and pets pampered.

Here is a quick glimpse into what we’ve been up to across Padgate, Lymm, and Grappenhall over the past few busy weeks!

🐶 Fetch and Cuddles with a Beautiful Border Collie in Padgate

First up, we’ve had the absolute pleasure of spending time in Padgate looking after one of the sweetest Border Collies you could ever meet. High-energy breeds like collies need plenty of mental and physical stimulation, but during a hot summer, timing is everything!

We’ve been keeping to shaded routes, adjusting walk times to early mornings and cooler evenings, and ensuring plenty of hydration stops along the way. When the sun was at its peak, we traded long walks for playful garden games in the shade, puzzle toys, and lots of lap time. Leaving a happy, exercised, and cool pup safely at home is the best part of our job!

🐱 Drop-in Visits for Two Cheeky Cats in Lymm

Over in picturesque Lymm, our schedule has included daily drop-in visits for two hilarious, character-filled cats. While their owners were away enjoying the sun, these two cheeky felines made sure we were kept on our toes!

Cats are total creatures of habit, so staying in their own comfortable home environment reduces their stress dramatically compared to a cattery. Our visits involved:

• Fresh food and crisp, cool water top-ups twice a day

• Litter box maintenance

• Plenty of interactive playtime with their favorite feather wands

• A little extra fuss and gentle companionship so they never felt lonely

Seeing them purr happily before curling up in their favorite sunny window spot proved once again that in-home cat care is second to none.

🌸 Saving a Stunning Grappenhall Garden from the Heatwave

It’s not just four-legged family members we look after! During the recent Warrington heatwave, we were called in to care for a truly breathtaking garden in Grappenhall while the homeowners were away.

Anyone who loves their garden knows how quickly weeks of dedicated work can wither away in just a few days of direct heat. To stop the lawn, hanging baskets, and delicate flower borders from wilting, we dropped by during the cooler evening hours to thoroughly soak the roots, top up bird baths, and check on greenhouse plants. The owners returned home to a lush, thriving green paradise—just as they left it!
